Asking for help. Some people don’t tell their contacts when they are in need to find work, which prevents anyone from helping. Social networks can make it easier for people to get responses or help from other people.
Having a Large Network. Having contact in different types of position can help the chances of getting work from them. The more people you are in touch with, the more chances they might be able to send work your way. Former film school students can contact or use the people they knew in school to create contacts and get work.
Keeping in Touch. Promoting yourself and your skills to your contact might help them remember you when they need someone, otherwise they might forget about you. Simple ways of promotions include keeping in touch and showing interest in the other person.
Referrals. Contact might be able to offer referrals about someone skills and ability. They can help when applying with a film resume. They can also refer someone’s name to another person who is in need of workers.
