Getting Back Into Film

Applying. Sending resumes is one of the ways to use your previous experience to your advantage and to separate yourself from the competition. Having a long period of inactivity in film showing in your resumes can play against you; an option is to explain the reasons.

Self-Promoting. After being absent of the industry, announcing who you are and what you do can help to get back in touch with former contact, or with new ones, as people are made aware of your availability and qualifications.

Second Job. Having a second job or part time work, can lessen the financial difficulties linked to getting back into film. Some people like actors are finding work as waiters/waitress in order to finance the expenses relating to their film career and/or to pay their living expenses.

A second job can free you to volunteer your time to build up your resume, make new contacts or refresh outdated skills.
