Finding Armorer Work


Looking Online. Different options are available for people looking online for Armorer work, such as the use of search engines, a multitude of social medias, unions, schools etc.

 

Networking. Many get work through the use of networking. Contacts can offer references for work opportunities. Contacts can also refer work to someone or help someone find some.

 

Unions. Unions may keep information on the different production within their jurisdiction. In some cases the information can be limited to members, however one can try to apply for membership by registering with the union.

 

Schools. Some schools receive job offers or job availability lists. They might email them, work on a request basis or post them on a job board. The service might be restricted to former students.

 

Contacting offices. Most productions have a production office that act as headquarter. Certain work is done outside of studio or production office and is instead done in facilities.

 

Being ProActive. Other options exist for those wanting to get work as an Armorer, including working your way up the department to a good position. Starting your own projects to build up your resume. Getting film experience to help make finding work easier.
