Asking Questions at Work

Preventing problems. Incertitude can lead to making mistakes that are preventable. It can be preferable to ask question to your direct superior, as coworkers might not be aware of all facts. Asking too many questions might lead to frustration to whomever is being asked. There are time and place to ask question as certain moments might not be the best times, such as busy or stressful moments.

Learning new ways. Asking questions and learning from the answers can lead to new ways of doing things that would be more efficient. Learning from what other departments are doing can help to have a better understanding of the way that department functions.

Showing interest. Asking questions to crew from another department can show that someone has an interest to learn and is interested in the job. People are generally open to teach about what they are doing but only when it’s the right time for it.
